Ok, I haven't touched the code for the site for some time, and after a server move some things weren't working quite right and it was high time I revised and upgraded some stuff, so I gave the codebase a major overhaul. The Picture Gallery has been upgraded in many ways. My good friend coded a very smart duplicate image detector which I implemented on the site which eliminates duplicates of uploaded images even at different resolutions and stuff. We're using SWFUpload which allows you to upload up to 2,000 images at a time and will queue them and provide upload status.
The gallery now requires users to vote on every image they look at. This ensures that the rating system accurately reflects viewer choice. I may consider adding the ability for members to opt out of the voting after they've voted a certain number of times. Let me know in the forums. I've added more anti-spam protection so hopefully I should have eliminated that problem. I cleaned up the image collection a fair bit and sorted it between AB models and candid, or real AB shots. I'll be sorting all uploads in the future in this manner.
One further thing I've done is switch to using the LightBox plugin to load all images via ajax from a gallery page. This should allow much quicker gallery browsing for viewers.
I removed the extra ads I was looking at putting in. I'm really not interested in adding more advertising, though I would love to do banner exchange with any related website. Contact me at the email address in the box on the right hand side of the page.
